I started Morgan Designs as a way to supplement my income during college and can hardly believe what it has become today. I can now proudly say that I have over a decade of professional graphic design experience under my belt and have worked for nationally recognized companies including the Centers for Disease Control, Department of Health and Human Services USA, RFDTV and The Coin Vault.
I am a graduate of East Tennessee State University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Digital Media. I am married to my college sweetheart and fellow nerd, James Overholt and am the eldest of 3 siblings: Alaina (26), Hunter (16) and Megan (14). I currently reside in Knoxville, Tennessee.
I am a Marketing and Communications professional with a Master’s in Interactive Media and a Bachelor’s in Journalism.
Currently, I am a User Experience Designer in Charlotte, NC. I create wireframes, conduct user-research and competitive analyses for an eCommerce retailer.
My professional skills include, user experience, social media, brand images, market research, writing copies and creating electronic and print content.
I am particularly interested in mobile research and usability. To see of more of my solo portfolio work, check out www.feleesha.com.
In the yearbook room of my high school, at the ripe young age of 16, I began learning the ins and outs of Photoshop and InDesign fell in love with illustrating stories and bringing them to life.
Little did I know I was setting myself on a career path. Fast forward nearly a decade, and I can now proudly say that I have worked for a multitude of newspapers, magazines and numerous small businesses as a professional editor, columnist and graphic designer.
I have been recognized with multiple state-wide awards by the Tennessee Press Association including first place in “2014 Make-Up and Appearance” and second place in “2014 Best Special Issue or Section”, “2014 Community Lifestyles” and “2014 Best Graphics and/or Illustrations.”
In fact, it was at the 2014 TPA awards that I was recruited by my current employer, The Chattanooga Times Free Press, where my layouts frequent the front page of a paper that ranks as one of the top three newspapers in the state.
On the side, I also work with my big sister Morgan Overholt, without whom I would likely not be in this business, for her Nashville-based company “Morgan Designs,” where we take on contract-based projects for companies of all shapes and sizes throughout Middle and East Tennessee. You can see more of her work here.
